History

Transport Couture has been part of this industry for more than sixty years. Actually, Transport Couture was founded by Marie-Louis Couture and his wife Fleurette in 1947 in St-Ephrem-de-Beauce. At that time, the company operated only two vehicles, one for the collection of garbage and the other alternated between Montreal and Quebec city for its weekly trip.

It was in 1970 when Transport Couture purchased three trucks to serve the Montreal area on a daily basis. In 1977, Michel, Normand, Yvan, Yves and Alain Couture took over the company and have continued the family tradition.

The deregulation of transportation in 1987 was beneficial for Transport Couture. Transportation then became a open border  market and allowed Transport Couture to grow.

Over one million dollars have been invested in the purchase of real estate and the construction of several buildings which house the company's main terminal office, warehousing and maintenance bays. In 2003, Alain, Yvan and Yves buy the company.  Transport Couture also has strategic emplacements in Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto.

Since the very beginning, Transport Couture has diversified its numerous clientele and has clearly become one of the major players in the transportation industry. The company specializes in the hauling of general commodities either as full or part loads in Canada and United States. The number of trucks, trailers and employees is constantly growing. Today more than 225 employees work for Transport Couture.

With a fleet of 110 trucks and 380 trailers, Transport Couture continues to look ahead with projects for further expansion. Despite its rapid growth, the company still maintains a family type atmosphere based upon employee confidence and reflected in the personalized service given to our customers.
